Year five WOW Day - 22nd November 2016 (116 images)
As an Artsmark school we were delighted to have been given the opportunity to hold a creative curriculum day for year 5 on Friday 22nd November. The day was led by 3 creative practitioners on the theme of ‘Imagined Futures’. The workshops during the day had strong links to ‘sustainability’ and included exploring animals and the environment. Pupils worked with Artist Anne Marie Stijelja to explore the effects of pollution on marine life through making sea life sculptures from waste plastic. Pupils also worked with the Flotsam Weaver Jo Atherton to explore our legacy on the environment by creating 'fossils of the future' using ceramic tiles. Finally were joined by zookeepers 'Teaching Talons' who allowed the pupils to handle animals, whilst learning about the future of the planet, threat to certain species and charities children could support.
